Spending the Holidays with Family Back Home

We were able to spend Christmas and New Years with family in Utah again this year. The weather was good so we didn't have to worry about snow in our travels. Although, it was a little weird to not have a white Christmas. Austin was pretty set on wanting to build a snowman. We won't complain though because it is not fun to drive in the snow!

Every year on Christmas Eve we have a party at Luke's parent's house. Santa shows up every year & the kids get to sit on his lap. Teague was a little iffy about Santa.

Isn't this the classic "photo with Santa" look?

Austin has eczema & it was really bothering him once we arrived in Utah. I think the dry air just made him itch like crazy. He didn't sleep well the first night because he was constantly itching. :( We gave him some benadryl & it pretty much turned him into a bear for most of Christmas Eve. Hence, the look on his face in the photo above. He wanted nothing to do with Santa this year & wouldn't approach him to get his gifts unless I held him. Totally not like Austin at all.

I love the back of them!

We stayed the night at Luke's parent's house on Christmas Eve. Austin was so worn out that he slept until 11:00 on Christmas morning! Eleven O'clock. Who does that?! It actually worked out perfect this year because Christmas day fell on a Sunday. Teague & I went to church with Danny & Twyla at 9:00. Austin woke up just in time to eat the amazing Christmas breakfast that Luke's parents cook every year. He woke up happy and felt so much better after all that sleep!

He was so excited because Santa brought him an acoustic guitar (just like Luke's) with his "very own pick!"

Barkley got totally spoiled this year & had so much fun opening his presents. Yes, all by himself. :)

Every time we asked Austin what he wanted Santa to bring him he said, "A firetruck & a doll. A yellow doll." I do not know where he came up with that, but luckily, he must have been a good boy because Santa brought him that firetruck & a boy cabbage patch kid doll with a yellow shirt.

Santa brought Teague this play mat that he loves!

Enjoying his bone

Teague fell asleep on the floor holding Luke's hand. It was precious!

We were able to bless Teague while we were in Utah. We blessed him at Luke's parents house & it was so good to be able to do it close to family. Luke gave him an awesome blessing.

He looked so handsome in his blessing outfit!
Luke's aunt Sherrie made Teague this beautiful blanket for his blessing.

Shannon hosted a New Years party at her house & we played "Dance Party" on the Wii. It was so much fun! That game is so addicting. Even though we looked like total morons pros while we danced, it was a blast.

Austin is going to kill me later in life for posting this picture. My niece Kadie gave him this bunny & it has velcro arms. He kept putting it around his head & as soon as we would look at him he would hurry & rip it off. I don't know if he was embarrassed or what, but it was so funny!
