The Polar Express!

Stella invited Austin & I to ride the Polar Express with her this year. It was so much fun! We were so lucky to be able to ride it because it is so hard to get tickets. They go on sale in early October and they sell out in minutes. On Saturday, December 10th Austin & I met Stella and her friend's daughter in Old Sacramento.

We went to Johnny Rockets for dinner. Alyvia & Austin had so much fun together! Here they are pulling funny faces at each other.

We boarded the train in Old Sacramento near the train museum.

One of the conductors on the train. It was so much fun & the whole ride was just like the book & the movie.

They passed out cookies & hot chocolate to everyone.

They read the story of The Polar Express.

This guy was great! He was the hobo who didn't believe. He would shake his bell and it wouldn't ring. He walked past us & Austin told him that he needed to believe in Santa & he would hear his bell.

The train traveled to "The North Pole." Santa made an appearance on the train on our way back to the train station.

Santa handed each person a bell. They looked exactly like the bell in the book.

We had the best time riding the Polar Express. It was so fun to see how excited the kids were. It was memorable and magical. When Austin woke up the next morning he asked if we could go to the North Pole again. It was so much fun. I wish we could ride it every year!

So funny to read this post because Davis and I started to watch The Polar Express tonight (a first for both of us -- although I love the book). I think the train conductor spooked Davis a bit, and by the time the part came with the hobo, he turned off the TV, closed the doors to the entertainment center, and said he was done.

So Fun!!! Kirk's family took us to do that when it was Kade's first Christmas. He was only 9 months. So, he didn't remember anything. :) We need to do it again! Looks like Austin had a great time!
